It is better to lay yellow-purple on 4-5 column.
There is a reason about priority.
In death tower, puyo is linked by falling 2 steps down at 4th column.
Basically a player sets puyos to link at 4-5 column of tower in 2nd chain. Then a player adds puyos to link over 4 puyos in 2nd chain. When you adds puyos in tower, you can use space both column: 3rd and 6th like this.
Of course you can use both column for one color.
In other words, if you don't make link of 4-5 column, death tower becomes weak shape.
You have to avoid situation like this. It is called Settlement determine linking puyos at 4-5 column.
Let's go back to vs. Raffine.
From the viewpoint of settlement, yellow-blue of 3rd set is better to lie on 4-5 column than standing it at 6th column.
・4th set
It is better to set on 5th vertically or 4-5 horizontally. Two blues have to set at 4th column because there is no space to link without 4th column.
To wait 2 blues means you can't set any other puyos before coming blue. It is not good to be late for setting at 3th column.
Other choice, 4-5 column makes I-shape tower.
■vs. Feli
・2nd set
There is two choises.
Above shape becomes primis / tertium / quartus tower.
Under shape becomes quintus tower.
You have to pay attention that ignition point is shifted to another side when you select quintus tower.
・3rd set
blue-yellow is better to set at 3-4 horizontally or at 2nd column vertically.
It it for not to be larger step between 2-3 column.
I think it is good converting!
■NASU Grave
・3rd set
It is difficult situation but also important situation.
Answer is to stand at 4th column. And then, stand 4th set at 5th column.
This is quartus tower. ideal complete form is like this.
Way how to set 4th purple-blue is very very important. It has essence of death tower.
■vs. Arle
・3rd set
・5th set
3-4 column horizontally is better.
■vs. Ocean Prince
・2nd set
4th column vertically is better. To do it makes settlement of blue.
I use that shape for some reason limited by AA BB, still my rethal propablity of death tower started by AA BB is lower than other initial set.
So for begginer, I recommand following:
・3rd set
Red is hopeful to set upper.
It is primis tower. puple is set up at 1~3 column, and other colors are set at 4~6 column and above purple.
Then it is secondus tower. Secondus tower is weakest than other tower shape.
When tower is extended by purple to kill ice (3-triple power chain), it becomes not but shape. But it is far from death tower...
■vs. Sig
・3rd set
Red is hopeful to set upper. It becomes secondus tower.
・4th set
4th set, green-red set by 4-5 horizontally is better. (Settlement!)
■vs. Schezo
・3rd set
4-5(settlement)
・4th set
good setting from the viewpoint of settlement
・5th set
Double blue is hopeful to stand at 5th column.
It is relation of purple reservation.
■reservation
Reservation is a place point that poyo must be set.
For example, purple need at 4th column, 5th row to settle.
Next, if double blue is set at 6th column.
Blue have to set such as this. There is not only a restruction of blue but also of purple.
Then, if double blue is set at 5th column.
Death tower gets more flexible linkings.
Reservation is easy to understand, but difficult to be under your controll with realtime playing.

I think you can be more strong tower player by remembering initial sets.
You already have a skill of puyopuyo, so I think you master death tower early. ( I think it since tournament of B puyo)
