I-shape tower has an ignition point linked 3 puyo vertically.
There is a space to ling 2nd layor color (yellow) at left side. Other tower is able to extend only 1st layor (the bottom) color at left side. It has a space to link puyo like a tertium tower.
But you are often required to convert other chains than death tower. And converting from I-shaped tower is fairly difficult.
Initial sets
AB AC AD is popular set.
AB AC AD can also become a primis tower. So you can choise primis or I-shape.
I don't know these superiority or inferiority, but I-shape tower is defferent from other standard tower, so I think not I-shape tower is for a biginner.
Important point
The merit is a space of 2nd layor link. If its space is dead, you can use left side hardly.

And this is cutting 2nd layor color (green), but newer 2nd layor color (purple) can be linked at left side, still it has a good point of I-shape tower.
Shifted I-shaped tower
Shifted I-shaped tower is better form than normal position its tower.
And AB AC AD set is definitely better for shifted I-shaped tower than shifted primis tower.
Shifted tower is easier to convert other chains.
Converting
